Evopos can import data from a variety of different systems and file formats.

The most common format we deal with is a CSV file, this is raw text file that is separated by commas.

Please feel free to download our Import Templates which you can use as a guide for the column layout for importing.

We are happy to provide basic help with converting your data, however more advanced conversions may warrant a nominal charge.

Once you have exported your old data we normally have to organise it into the correct format so that it can be imported into Evopos.

It is normally a good opportunity to use the spreadsheet tools to tidy up the data or delete unwanted lines prior to importing. There are also functions in a spreadsheet (such as Fill, or to re-calculate the figures with or without tax) that will help bulk change multiple rows.

See also section in Help on Importing Data for more details

Exporting data from your old system

Exporting with some software can be difficult as a lot of software providers try to tie you in to their system by making it hard to extract data. Evopos do not believe in such practices and give you full control over your data.

On some systems, where we have converted the data many times, we have created dedicated guides or utilities to automate it.

Dedicated Guides:
  • Biketech Business Manager
  • MYOB
  • QuickBooks
  • Biscount
  • IBCOS

If we do not have a dedicated guides or utility we would normally try to export your data to a text based format, this includes CSV, XML, tab delimited, text and Excel files.

File formats such as PDF or Word should only be used as a last resort as they are much more complicated and time consuming to convert.

Exporting Tips
  • Look under the main File menu for export options
  • Settings or Maintenance can sometimes show exporting options
  • Reports can often have options to export
